BOTH THE AMAZON DESCRIPTION & THE PACKAGING LABEL INDICATE THIS IS NOT INTENDED TO LEAVE IN OVEN, SO THE PREVIOUS BAD REVIEW ISN'T APPROPRIATE. The large dial and room temperature on the dial seemed ideal, BUT the dial cover MELTED at 120! thereby blocking further movement of the indicator. Thank goodness we had a back up thermometer in the roast.

Obviously, do not buy this.
