It is only that.



I got this one a few weeks ago to replace the older one, that got water and broke. This one is very good n reading temperature and the probe is relatively thin, making a smaller hole in the measured meat.



My only complain and it is my fault, is that this one has no timer function. Something that I find extremely useful in the kitchen. It never mentioned that it does have one, so I don 't blame the company for that, but for the price you pay it is kinda expected. This is not however that I gave the three stars.



I find the temperature for the meats too hi. 175 for chicken is amazingly high. 160 for beef the same. Yes it will be done, but it will also be dry and tough. So if you are not going to folow the chart, then why not getting one with a timer.

I have had one for 6 months and still can't figure out how to use the settings. The design requiring you to turn the outer wheel and press the center button is difficult to coordinate and even a slight movement of the wheel changes the settings. I would not buy this again if I had been able to try it out of the packaging before buying.

Zyliss makes exceptionally well made and innovative cooking gadgets and is one of my top three favorite untensil makers.

THE MEAT THERMOMETER & MULTI-TIMER, IN MY OPINION, IS THE WORST PRODUCT IN THEIR LINE. It is beautifully styled, but aggravating to set, making it extremely difficult and annoying to use. I returned it to the store for a refund. Now I use the built-in, easy-to-use timer on my microwave and have purchased another brand of meat thermometer, this time wireless.

My Zyliss Meat Thermometer experience was an complete waste of time and money, therefore, I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PRODUCT.

Hasn't let me down yet. Easy to use and takes the guesswork out of roasting. I leave the batteries out since it draws them down. It means that I have to forego the clock, etc, but rarely have to replace batteries.

This is a poor thermometer. The device is an attractive round body with a mode selection wheel around the perimeter. It is much to clever to be useful. The modes are difficult to set. There is no intuitive way to set any of the temperature settings or time settings. If you ever used one of those Chinese stopwatches or wristwatches that require you to press one or two buttons in sequence and divine the setting by looking at flashing symbols with no obvious purpose you can understand what it is like to use this device.



My wife is very irritated when she tried to use this in the past. The probe went dead after just a few uses. That was the best thing about it. Now we don't feel bad about throwing it away.



You'll regret buying this if you do. Find another thermometer.
